New
Style is our go to Chinese delivery in town. We started there when
the hot and sour soup from our regular haunt became consistently
inconsistent. Oddly, the same has happened at New Style. One day
it’s excellent, the next all hot and no sour, the next none of the
above. Too bad. At some point we may find another option, but for
now they are quick and deliver all sorts of goodies to our door.
Their deliver service is great but they need to work out the
ordering, especially online which is ridiculously hitchy. |

Tonight we tried the hot and sour soup again, shouldn’t have, barely hot…no sour. I know it’s a leftovers soup but you still have to season it! The wonton is always the same and pretty good for delivery. Their egg and spring rolls are about what you would expect and I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for fried cheese wontons and they do them well. The law of fried food also applies to Chinese cuisine. A bath in the oil does wonders for tastiness. They also do a pan fried dumpling which is perfectly average but comes with a little cup of dipping sauce that is a stupendous blend of flavors which you could dip just about anything into.
We
ordered a soy-salty shrimp lo mein with itty-bitty shrimp and
well-done noodles, chicken with cashews and general tso’s, none of
which would keep us from trying another option but the convenience,
efficiency and general quality keep us relatively steady customers
of New Style. |
